Thanks for stopping by. These terms explain how our website works and how ordering from us works. We've kept them short and plain. By using this website, you're agreeing to them. If anything here doesn't make sense, just ask us.

1. Who we are

The Chalk Shop is owned by Pete & Kim Blinson, 179 Salter St., Sturgeon Falls, ON P2B 3C7. Phone 705-896-4523, email [email protected]. “We” and “us” on this page means The Chalk Shop.

2. How ordering works

There's no shopping cart or checkout on this website, and we don't take payments here. To order, you contact us, usually by tapping a “Message us” button, which opens Facebook Messenger. You can also call or email us.

1. Share your idea. Tell us the design, size, colours and wording you'd like.
2. We confirm the details. We go over the design, price and timing with you before anything is made.
3. We make it yours. Once you approve the details, we make your piece.

Your order is confirmed once we've both agreed on those details. Payment, and pickup or delivery, are arranged directly with you when we confirm your order.

3. Metal signs and custom work

Our metal signs are made to order here in Sturgeon Falls, in 16″, 24″ and 36″ sizes. Adding a name, lake, address or other custom text adds a $20 customization fee. Prices on this site are in Canadian dollars, and we'll confirm the final price with you before we start.

Please check your wording carefully. Before you approve, double-check spelling, names, dates and numbers. We make your sign with the wording you approve.

Returns and changes on custom work. Because every personalized sign is made just for you, please talk to us before you order about returns or changes on custom work, so we're both clear before anything is made.

Photos. Many of our product photos are styled mockups that show how a piece could look in a home or at camp. Your sign is made to order, so colours, finish and small details may look a little different from what you see on your screen.

4. Hoodies, tees and other fashion items

Please message us to confirm sizes, colours and options before you order. If you have questions about returns or exchanges, ask us before you order.

5. Seasonal and in-person items

Some seasonal pieces are sold in person only, in limited supply, at the Flea Market at 179 Salter St., Sturgeon Falls. Check our home page for current days and hours.

6. Timing and holiday deadlines

We'll confirm timing with you when you order. Any order-by dates we post for holidays, like Christmas, are our best guide, and the earlier you message us, the easier it is.

7. If something isn't right

If there's a problem with your order, please contact us and we'll talk it through with you.

8. Digital cut files (Payhip and Etsy)

Our digital cut files are sold through Payhip and our Etsy shop (TheChalkShopStore). Those purchases, including payment, downloads and refunds, are covered by that platform's own terms and by the terms included with the file.

Free files we offer on this site, like our Cookies for Santa SVG, are free for personal use. Please don't resell, share or redistribute the files themselves; send friends to the page instead. The full terms are in the README inside the download.

9. Amazon and other outside links

Some of our guide pages include affiliate links to Amazon.ca. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Anything you buy on Amazon is between you and Amazon, under Amazon's terms. Amazon may use cookies to know you came from our site; see our Privacy Policy.

We also link to other sites, like Facebook, Payhip and Etsy, for your convenience. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and we're not responsible for their content or how they work.

10. Our designs, photos and words

The designs, photos, videos and writing on this site belong to The Chalk Shop unless we say otherwise. Please don't copy, reproduce or sell them without our permission. Sharing a link to our site, or a photo of the sign you bought from us, is always welcome.

11. Using this website

We work hard to keep prices, sizes and availability on this site accurate, but mistakes happen and things change. If something on the site is wrong, we'll let you know when we confirm your order, before you're committed. The website is provided as is, and to the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses that come from using it.

12. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

13. Ontario law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in place when we confirm it.
